The Way I See Things Coming to Chicago!
To all my fans living in the Chicago Metro area, my independent feature, The Way I See Things, will be having its Midwest premiere at Reeling 2008: the 27th Chicago Lesbian and Gay International Film Festival, this Sunday night, November 9th, at 7 p.m. at the Landmark's Century Centre Cinema, 2828 N. Clark St., Theatre #7, in Chicago’s near north side. Ticket information may be found on the festival’s website, www.reelingfilmfestival.org .
For those of you who aren’t yet familiar with the movie, The Way I See Things is the story of Otto, who is grieving the unexpected death of his longtime partner. Otto is coerced by his friend Rob to join him on a road trip, in a mistaken belief that touring the country will make Otto forget his sorrow. But arguments and embarrassments between Rob and Otto only compound Otto’s fragile state of mind. Otto escapes from his friend, leaving behind his identity and his past, ending up in a mountain retreat commune populated by other lost souls searching for reality and a sense of identity. It is there that Otto meets Deninin, the character I portray. Neglected by his mother in childhood, Deninin has entered into a peculiarly dependent and combative relationship with the commune's matriarchal leader.
For those of you who have seen my interview in Gay Chicago Magazine (www.gaychicagomagazine.com) and are expecting my appearance at the festival, I’m sorry to say that a previous commitment has prevented me from making the trip to Chicago. However, if you would like an autographed photo, please go to www.joshberresford.com/contact for information on how to get your personally signed picture.

PIECES ON THE
BOARD by Tim O'Leary and starring Josh Berresford, is being
performed as part of the 2008 New York International Fringe Festival. Pieces
on the Board, an epic saga of murder, love, betrayal, and revenge.
A young man, Logan, is approached by a beautiful woman in his bar, and this
event kick-starts into motion a most sinister plan to kill his mobster
father, Cliff Reynolds, so he can inherit his fathers wealth. Things are
not so simple, however, when Cliff proves he is no easy target.
What begins as a simple murder plot in upstate New York soon escalates into
a battle on an enormous chessboard, one that spans years as well as
continents, as we jump from a small city in upstate New York, to an isolated
desert compound in Arizona (in which teens are trained to be killers), to a
luxurious villa on a Caribbean island. As were thrown both backward and
forward though time, old connections are revealed, new love affairs form,
and vendettas will be concealed but never forgotten.
Life is one big game of chess. We are but pieces on the board.

These next two weeks are going to be very exciting ones for me, as I attend both the World Premiere and East Coast Premiere of my new movie, THE WAY I SEE THINGS, and return to NYC for rehearsals starting for my new Fringe Festival play.
My film will have its premiere screening. I will be attending many of the festivities during Outfest, but am particularly looking forward to seeing the final cut of the movie for the very first time. The Opening Night Gala is at the Orpheum Theater, 842 S. Broadway on Wednesday night, July 9th. As I head down the Red Carpet around 6:00pm, I will be accompanied by Tracy Scoggins and Thea Gill, my cast mates from Dante's Cove.
Also: Immediately upon my return to New York , its off to rehearsals for my new show entitled, Pieces on the Board, part of Fringe NYC. The New York International Fringe Festival (Fringe NYC) is the largest multi-arts festival in North America , with more than 200 companies from all over the world performing for 16 days in more than 20 venues; that's a total of more than 1300 performances! Fringe NYC generates an atmosphere of extreme excitement, and our energy is contagious!
